SUGAR CREEK THEOLOGY
EVANGELICAL. ANABAPTIST. CATHOLIC.
A QUOTE FROM MY READING...
"These small and perishable bodies we now have were given to us as ponies are given to schoolboys. We must learn the manage: not that we may some day be free of horses altogether but that some day we may ride bare-back, confident and rejoicing, those greater mounts, those winged, shining and world-shaking horses which perhaps even now expect us with impatience, pawing and snorting in the King’s stables. Not that the gallop would be of any value unless it were a gallop with the King; but how else—since He has retained His own charger—should we accompany Him?" C.S. Lewis in Miracles.

About Me
I am Layton Friesen and I work as academic dean and professor of theology, ethics and history at Steinbach Bible College. In my former life, I pastored for 19 years in the Evangelical Mennonite Conference in Canada. I am wonderfully married to Glenda, and have two adult children and one daughter-in-law. I live in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
In my former former life I was raised on a remote peat moss and mosquito farm called Sugar Creek, on the northern edge of farmable land in Manitoba, past Riverton. My parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts and cousins were rugged Christians who took no bull and loved me into faith.
